Coconut oil is predominantly made up of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs)—though saturated, MCFAs do not require the liver to digest them. This means instant energy and increased thermogenesis (increased metabolic rate in the body), which helps provide fuel during exercise and regulate weight day to day.
MCFAs have high quantities of Lauric and Capric acid which are known for having antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties, so they are beneficial to our immune system.
